Rabies remains a significant public health concern in rural Kenya. Our vaccination clinics provide free or subsidized anti-rabies vaccinations to dogs and cats in remote villages where veterinary services are often inaccessible.

What we do:

• Organize regular community vaccination days
• Provide free anti-rabies vaccines
• Issue vaccination certificates for pet identification
• Educate pet owners on signs of rabies and prevention
• Collaborate with local veterinary departments

2024 Impact: 5 vaccination clinics in Moro, Kodum, Lisana, Katito, and Sondu

"Street Savvy" Education

Empowering communities with knowledge

Our education program, known as "Street Savvy," focuses on teaching responsible pet ownership to community members of all ages, with special emphasis on reaching children in schools.

Program components:

• School visits with interactive presentations
• Village meetings on pet care and nutrition
• Training on safe animal handling
• Disease recognition and prevention education
• Promoting humane treatment of animals

2024 Impact: 10 local schools and 4 community centers reached

Emergency Veterinary Care

First aid when pets need it most

In remote villages, injured or sick pets often go without treatment due to lack of access to veterinary services. Our emergency care program provides basic veterinary first aid to ensure no animal suffers needlessly.

• Wound cleaning and treatment
• Basic medication for common ailments
• Referral to veterinary professionals for serious cases
• Training community members in pet first aid
• Low-cost or free treatment options

Humane Population Control

Sustainable management of stray populations

Uncontrolled breeding leads to increased stray populations, which can result in animal suffering, disease spread, and community safety concerns. Our spay/neuter initiatives offer humane, sustainable solutions.

Community Support

Empowering pet owners with practical solutions

Many pet owners in Nyakach want to provide better care for their animals but lack resources or knowledge. Our community support program helps bridge this gap using locally available materials and practical solutions.
